# Directions:
01 - Set oven to 400°F (200°C) to begin preparation.
02 - Fit unbaked 9-inch pie crust into pie pan, shaping and crimping edges as desired.
03 - Pour 1 1/2 cups water directly into prepared crust.
04 - In mixing bowl, combine 3/4 cup granulated sugar and 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour thoroughly.
05 - Evenly sprinkle flour-sugar mixture over water inside crust.
06 - Drizzle 1 teaspoon vanilla extract and a pinch of salt over the pie filling.
07 - Slice 4 tablespoons unsalted butter into thin pats; distribute evenly across surface.
08 - Place pie on lower oven rack and bake for 30 minutes at 400°F (200°C).
09 - Lower oven to 375°F (190°C) and continue baking for 20 minutes until crust is golden and filling is set with slight jiggle.
10 - Remove pie from oven and cool completely at room temperature. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours before slicing for optimal texture.
